The short version: Simple Checklist stores your account and checklist data on a private server so it can sync across your devices. We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share it with third parties. We don't use analytics or tracking tools of any kind.
Simple Checklist is a checklist and to-do list app. Unlike a purely offline app, Simple Checklist stores your checklists on a server so that your data is backed up and can be accessed consistently each time you sign in. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's stored, and what it's used for.

Your account details and checklist content are stored on a private, self-hosted server that we operate, and are transmitted between the app and that server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Your password is never stored in plain text — it's cryptographically hashed before being saved, so it cannot be recovered or read, even by us.
Cover images you attach to a checklist are stored on the same server and are automatically resized and compressed; they are not shared anywhere beyond powering that checklist's display within the app.
Your data is used solely to provide the app's core functionality: keeping your checklists in sync and accessible whenever you sign in. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or checklist content with any third party. Simple Checklist does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

We retain your account and checklist data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our server without unnecessary delay.
Simple Checklist is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can remove it.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including transmitting data over encrypted connections and storing passwords as irreversible cryptographic hashes rather than plain text. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we make changes to this privacy policy — for example, if new features change how data is handled — we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
